Why all SARDARS look same??

Life was very simple when people used to call me by my original name "Maninder". I never knew that name has so much importance till I entered NITIE, Mumbai. An MBA college, famous for its supply chain domain, and located near Powai. Since the day I entered this college, people have tried almost everything to just remember my name, but they are not able to. Because to them, all Sardars look same!!!!

OMG!!

Maninder has become "Manvinder", "Manpreet", "Mandeep", "Manmeet", "Saardar" and many more after entering NITIE.

And my reaction is WOW!! Only this was left after Santa Banta, 12 bje wala Sardar joke and a lot.

So this was my first reaction when I came to NITIE. Out of 800 students, 50 professors, and other staff, around 80% of the people believe that all sardars look same. It's really hard to believe that if we can see the difference between Shahrukh Khan of Rabb ne bna di jodi and Akshay Kumar of Singh is King then why it's difficult to do that with us?

So I thought I should talk to some of my friends to know that why they feel so?

So following were the points they shared with me:

1. Turban style of Sardar is something which to everyone except Punjabi people look same. Though we have different famous styles in tying turban also, for the rest of India, it is same.  I wear Amritsari style, we have Patiala shahi style also, some prefer freestyle also. So this is making things difficult for others to differentiate one Sardar with the another.

2. Moustache and beard..... Why Sikhs wear a big beard and moustaches? For some, it is because of the religion and for some, it is about MAARDANGI (I have a strong feeling that they don't read Men's Health) and for some, it's a fashion statement. Whatever it's, but for my friends, it's not easy to understand how beard and moustache are different from one Sardar with the other. So for them, it's easy to say that all are same.

3. Punjabi accent: Whatever we do, whatever we learn, whatever we practice, we can't leave our Punjabi accent, whatever the language may be... Believe me !! We can also speak Tamil in Punjabi accent. We have that level.

Jokes apart! But every Punjabi speaks with a colloquial touch and all can notice this thing easily, so not in our hand!!

4. The magic of Sidhu!!! I can't define the personality of this person. He doesn't know when to smile (Sorry! he doesn't smile but laugh like anything) because his timing is so bad that he laughs at everything. He has blessed all of us with this thing that all Sardars laugh without any reason. And seriously!! The way I tie turbans of different colors, people around me relate me to Sardar Sidhu only.... God, why is he like that?

5. Every Sardar knows Bhangra Seriously yaar!!! I know bhangra from very close and I used to practice for long  6-8 hours in a day to get perfection, but according to others every Sardar knows Bhangra which is also correct up to some level, but keeping your hands high in the air and just moving here and there like drunk Johnny lever is not Bhangra.

But, then again, what can we do?

Because all sardars are same!!

I'm very thankful to my friends who have put a lot of efforts to complete this important story (this was sarcastic!), but seriously ..... How could all Sardars look same to anyone???

If not, then compare Manmohan Singh with me....You'll get the answer. Take care and smile :)
